About us

This is the story behind Set in September the Label. Our beautiful Afroz. Afroz is the sister of the founder of Set in September the Label.

On 20 September 2021, Afroz at the age of 33 was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer. This was six months after giving birth to her first child. Afroz wholeheartedly embraced the treatment being offered, and dealt with her illness with immense patience, gratitude and faith.

Afroz turned 34 on 13 November 2021, and our angel will forever be 34. On 6 January 2022, being three months and two weeks following on from her diagnosis, she returned to meet her creator, leaving a big void in our hearts. She was a mother, wife, daughter, sister, khala and friend to so many. Her presence is missed every single moment, every single day.

In honour of Afroz, we introduce this not-for-profit and charity organisation, Set in September the Label. As we grieve her death every single day, we hope to turn our grief and pain into our strength through this organisation. We wish to carry on her legacy, and for people to become aware of bowel cancer. All proceeds raised through this organisation will be donated to Bowel Cancer Australia, and towards bowel cancer research.

This is our gift to Afroz.
